OUR MISSION

A collaborative community within Safety & Employee Development

The mission of the Safety & Employee Development Section Managing Committee is to provide opportunities to share in experiences, lessons learned, challenges, and successes of SGA member companies. This committee focuses on safety and health issues and regulations of systems and people. The committee evaluates issues and challenges and makes recommendations to the Executive Council on SGA’s policies, plans, and tactics for addressing identified challenges and opportunities.

The committee provides educational and networking opportunities to industry peers through our roundtable at the SGA Management Conference, oversees the activities of sub committees focused on specific areas, and provides guidance to SGA staff on appropriate areas of focus for the association.

The committee meets in person at planning meetings, conferences, and periodically by conference call.

Pipeline Safety Management Systems

The mission of the Pipeline Safety Management Systems Committee is to look for opportunities to share in experiences, lessons learned, challenges, and successes of SGA member companies. This committee focuses on a framework for managing pipeline safety holistically through the integration of various activities including risk and asset management, formal processes and procedures, systematic decision making, monitoring of program effectiveness, safety culture, audits, and increased communications.

Who We Are?  Natural Gas Industry who are strategic thinkers, leaders, and decision makers within member companies.

What We Do? Provide networking and educational opportunities to industry peers through awards programs, best practice sharing and educational development for SGA events.

Who We Are? Safety and Health professionals in the natural gas industry.

What We Do? The Committee is responsible to the safety and health liaison representatives of the member companies for originating and directing safety and health activities relating to the natural gas industry

Where We Meet? The committee meets on monthly conference calls, at an onsite planning meeting, and holds roundtables as part of SGA Conferences.

This committee focuses on developing, monitoring, and promoting excellence in lifelong learning processes and strategies for natural gas industry professionals.

Who We Are? Learning and Development and Organizational Development departments from across the industry.

What We Do? We focus on and anticipate the needs of member companies (and the natural gas industry as a whole), investigate possible training or training-related functions to meet those needs, and provide guidance to SGA staff, member companies, and vendors serving the natural gas industry.
