Who We Are

SGA membership spans 200 operating member companies across distribution, transmission, gas supply marketing and municipal systems, along with 300+ industry partners serving as vendors, suppliers and consultants across the U.S. and Canada.

Membership is corporate. Every employee of a member company is a member, with access to peer networking, committee work, shared practices and the training that supports it all.

Dues are set by membership type.

Membership 2027 Rate
Distribution & Transmission From $38,369, based on Gas Operating Income
Municipal $0.20 per meter (minimum $2,205)
Gas Supply Marketing $11,026 per year
Associate $2,500 per year

Operating membership rates include the SGA Training Subscription.

Where Your Dues Go

For every member holding the SGA Training Subscription, 90% of the subscription covers training, 10% is dues, and none is allocated to lobbying.

That split matters when you are justifying the line item internally. Nearly all of what your company pays goes directly back into developing your workforce.

The subscription covers all SGA Campus on-demand courses and all live instructor-led virtual sessions, for every employee of your company, with no seat limits. PDH certificates and Credly digital badges are included wherever they are offered.

In-person workshops and conferences are priced separately and carry a 15% subscription-holder discount on registration.

Every operating membership category includes it: Distribution & Transmission, Municipal and Gas Supply Marketing.

Associate membership does not include the subscription. Associate members can add it to their membership or receive it as part of becoming an Advance Partner. Contact Member Services at memberservices@sganaturalgas.org to talk through which route fits your organization.

SGA events are open to members and non-members operating in at least one of the following categories. Members register at reduced rates.

  1. DISTRIBUTION Members and non-member organizations functioning as a gas distributor or operator of gas distribution facilities, or both gas distribution and transmission facilities.
  2. TRANSMISSION Members and non-member organizations operating gas transmission facilities without major distribution facilities.
  3. GAS SUPPLY MARKETING Members and non-members whose principal gas business is operating as a producer or marketer of natural gas.
  4. ASSOCIATE Members and non-members defined as corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies or individually-operated concerns that are: (a) Manufacturers or distributors of equipment or apparatus useful to the gas industry; or (b) Consulting engineers, attorneys, financial advisors, rate consultants, public accountants, service organizations, or technical journal publishers or others not eligible for other membership classifications that are closely associated with and regularly render service to the gas industry.
