Event Summary
A two-hour course on the basics of mechanical seal technologies and ways to enhance their life in service. Emphasis will be placed on pipeline pump operation for maximum seal life.
Attendees will receive 2 Professional Development Hours (PDH) upon completion.
Course Objectives
Equip operators, mechanics, reliability engineers, maintenance and operations supervisors with the knowledge of how seals work and what they need in the way of an environment to give the longest life in service and fewest repairs. The focus will be wet seals and technologies that may enhance wet seal reliability.

John Merrill
Principal Engineer, EagleBurgmann
John Merrill is a principal engineer at EagleBurgmann. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tulsa and MSME from Western Michigan University. Mr. Merrill has worked in the rotating equipment industry since 1991 and is an active member of the Hydraulic Institute and the API 682 task force.
