We are now halfway through 2022, a year that radiates progress and prosperity in comparison to the previous and can be defined as one of reemergence. The strong foundation of our association, and the commitment of our membership community, has allowed us to reemerge and reengage.
As companies grapple with the “great resignation,” Southern Gas Association is a valuable resource for you. The workforce shift means you are going to have a lot of new people. The best way for new people to learn and gain experience quickly, is by gaining broad exposure across the industry and building a network. SGA provides that network and cross-collaboration like no other association because we have more than 600 members across the industry value chain. As of June 30, we have delivered education and engagement opportunities to 3,200 members in 70 different formats including committee meetings, in-person instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training, in-house (at the member facility) and conferences.
SGA’s technical training, networking and leadership development will help today’s new hire turn into a leader in the next decade. Besides all the technical skills that are needed to meet the challenges of natural gas production, transmission and distribution, natural gas companies will need to continually develop the softer skills of communication, collaboration and innovation. SGA’s leadership training helps leaders at levels build trust, be better at making decisions, managing conflict, and coaching.
In this issue of The LINK, we clear up LNG myths, introduce an upgraded member experience, cover all things conferences and introduce our expanded digital badge offerings through Credly.
For our committees, we request feedback on your experience, have opened up nominations for the Associate Section Managing Committee and shared the official Committee Handbook.
Thank you for your support, your time and your belief in our mission to link people, ideas and information.
