SGA JIP VR Assessment Discussion

This is an invite only event.

Event Summary

Southern Gas Association is evaluating a Virtual Reality Training Joint Industry Project (JIP) to solve the industry’s challenge for a more innovative and cost-effective approach to Virtual Training.

Standing up a Virtual Training program is complex and costly when handled by one company. It requires specific knowledge and equipment. A VR Joint Industry Project allows SGA members to cooperate and share costs and benefits!

Southern Gas Association has a well-established history of successfully deploying and managing JIPs for the mutual benefit of our members.

Joint Industry Projects:

  • Leverage resources (cost sharing)
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer idea-sharing
  • Add weight to relevancy through scale (industry collaboration)
  • Demonstrate smart practices to regulatory agencies.

Through the JIP process, our members will come together to share costs and produce scalable Virtual Reality training that they can customize to fit their specific training and needs.

Two goals have been identified:

  1. Provide a high-value means for Southern Gas Association members to access virtual training to improve operations and enhance safety.
  2. Attract GenZ and Millennial talent
