Emergency Management – National Mock Drill

Last month, SGA helped facilitate a national mock drill with the American Gas Association, Western Energy Institute and Midwest Energy Association that was led by Northeast Gas Association. The purpose of this drill was to “test” the preparedness of gas companies when faced with a natural disaster or emergency. Member companies that participated in this drill were tasked with coordinating resources and logistics to address the situation. A debrief web conference, led by the American Gas Association, is tentatively planned for late October, where key takeaways will be shared.

Environmental – Layman’s Guide to Environmental Regulations in the Natural Gas Industry

Recently updated, Environmental Regulations in the Natural Gas Industry - A Layman’s Guide was developed and written to provide a basic regulatory summary of the environmental regulations that directly affect the natural gas industry.  

The target audience consists of readers who are unfamiliar with the natural gas industry and are seeking a brief, general overview of environmental regulations impacting the industry.

WEB-BASED TRAINING

A Virtual Introduction to the Natural Gas Industry Workshop!

This course is a blended learning course that includes live webinar sessions and web-based training (WBT) self-study elements covering the basics of the industry. The course is delivered over a multi-week schedule and will provide opportunities for students to ask questions, complete activities and get to know their peers and leaders in the industry.

  • A Virtual Introduction to the Natural Gas Industry runs September 13 – October 11. Participants can sign up through September 20.

Target Audience: Although designed for new or relatively new employees, this class is relevant for anyone needing an understanding of the industry to communicate with customers, clients and other departments within their organization.
