 Mark Hereth

Principal, Process Performance Improvement Consultants, LLC (P-PIC)
Mark was the technical lead in the development of the American Petroleum Institute (API) Recommended Practice (RP) 1173. He has experience with safety management systems having worked in the refining, petrochemical and chemical industries prior to his work in the pipeline industry that dates back in to the early 1990s. Prior to forming Process Performance Improvement Consultants LLC (P-PIC) in 2003, at HSB, he helped develop an underwriting protocol that evaluated a potential insured’s implementation of Process Safety Management initially codified in API 570 and then in OSHA regulations at 29 CFR 1910.119

Mike McGonagill 

Mike has been very active in SGA and led implementation of an Operations Management System (OMS) in the mid-2000s in Alliance Pipeline. The Alliance system OMS includes the elements of the API RP and the requirements of safety management systems codified by the National Energy Board. Alliance went through an NEB audit of their OMS prior to Mike’s retirement. Mike has first hand knowledge in developing and implementing a safety management system and was involved during the audit using the NEB audit protocol.
