In the natural gas industry, a fast, organized response can make all the difference. This course introduces the core concepts of the Incident Command System (ICS) and how to apply them effectively during emergency situations unique to pipeline operations, facility incidents, and field responses. Learn how to structure your response teams, define critical roles, and manage incidents with confidence. This session also serves as a solid prep for FEMA ICS-100, ICS-200, and ICS-700 certifications—ensuring your team is ready when it counts.

Meet Your Instructor

Robert Ballesteros

Emergency & Crisis Management Professional


Robert Ballesteros brings over 30 years of experience in emergency and crisis management, beginning with his service in the U.S. Coast Guard. His notable career achievements include participating in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Security Team, serving on the Alaska State Trooper Patrol Vessel Stimson, and acting as the Alaska State On Scene Commander representative during the M/V Selendang Maru grounding. He held the role of Emergency Management Regional Advisor for Chevron’s Asia Pacific operations and developed the Oil Spill Tactics Manual for the company. He also led the creation of Chevron’s Cyber Intelligence Center’s drill program and has presented at major industry conferences. Robert has managed diverse emergencies, from volcanic eruptions to oil well fires, with a specialization in major oil spill response. Outside of work, he enjoys supporting his children’s sports activities, cheering for the Chicago Cubs, and humorously tolerating his wife’s home improvement projects.
