Event Overview
This course provides a high-level overview of Gas SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and Gas Control operations. Participants will gain foundational insight into how SCADA systems support the monitoring, control, and optimization of natural gas pipeline networks. The course will also cover the key roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes within Gas Control, offering a better understanding of how these systems and teams work together to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient gas delivery.
Attendees will receive 1.5 Professional Development Hours upon completion.

Meet the Instructor
Todd Nodes
Sr. Gas Control Manager, Gas Transmission, Xcel Energy
Todd began working in Gas Control for Northern States Power in MN in 1998 supporting and programming field equipment and SCADA. This led to a leadership role with the team when NSP and New Century Energy merged to create Xcel Energy. His role continued in Gas Control leading Gas Control for the MN, WI, ND, SD and MI regions. In 2018 the role expanded to include CO and TX and he relocated to Colorado where he continues as Sr. Manager of Gas Control.
