Building a Culture of Employee Engagement

Live Webinar, Thursday, June 23rd, 9:30 – 10:30 AM CT

Presenter: Bob Lavigna, Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of Human Resources, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Bob will present many strategies rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. “From the start, it is important to understand that there is no silver bullet to achieve high levels of employee engagement,” he wrote. “Instead, what’s needed is a silver buckshot — an integrated series of actions, specific to each government jurisdiction or agency, to measure and then improve engagement.” In this one-hour LIVE webinar, HR expert Bob Lavigna will help us understand empirically-proven approaches to improve employee engagement.

Bob Lavigna-The Power of Employee Engagement

Melissa Gould, DNV-GLSESSION 5: Monday, June 27, 9:30 to 11:30 am CT
“Construction Quality Management Systems”
Presenter: Melissa Gould, Senior Engineer in the Welding Technology group at DNV GL

  • PHMSA inspections, coupled with several pre-commissioning pressure test failures, first year in-service failures and other material and construction problems have highlighted construction quality issues in the oil and gas pipeline industry. Due to the uniqueness of pipeline construction projects, PHMSA solicited proposals in 2013 for a research and development project titled, “Improving Quality Management Systems (QMS) for Pipeline Construction Activities,” which was awarded to and co-funded by DNV GL.
  • DNV GL developed a scalable QMS framework and an accompanying guidance document for pipeline construction activities intended to assist pipeline operating companies and contractors in the development and implementation of a company-specific QMS. Senior Engineer Melissa Gould will discuss DNV GL’s approach for QMS for pipeline construction with a goal of elevating the focus on quality and level of safety.
