OUR MISSION
SGA’s Customer Growth and Development Section Managing Committee provides a forum for customer executives from member utilities to learn, develop, and share best practices to enhance the current and future customer experience while promoting growth in the natural gas industry. The purpose of the committee is to build a collaborative community, engage in dialogue to facilitate the exchange of information, and to manage education relevant to this section and the natural gas industry. The committee consists executives from member companies who are strategic thinkers, leaders and decision makers within our respective companies.
This committee focuses on market penetration, product development, market expansion and diversification, current and emerging technology, marketing campaigns, and more. The Committee evaluates issues and challenges and makes recommendations to the Executive Council on SGA’s policies, plans, and tactics for addressing identified challenges and opportunities.
The committee provides educational and networking opportunities to industry peers through our roundtable at the SGA Management Conference, oversees the activities of sub committees focused on specific areas of the gas supply, gas marketing, business development, customer experience, residential /commercial markets, codes and standards, regulatory & rates, etc., and provides guidance to SGA staff on appropriate areas of focus for the association.
The committee meets in person at planning meetings, conferences, and periodically by conference call.
The mission of the Business Development Committee is to provide opportunities to share in experiences, lessons learned, challenges, and successes of SGA member companies. This committee explores ways to help members grow their businesses and thrive. Focuses on identifying policy opportunities and impediments to sustaining and growing demand for U.S. natural gas resources in targeted markets, reviewing legislative and regulatory policy and market designs that leverage the full value of natural gas.
The mission of the Gas Marketing Committee is to provide opportunities to share in experiences, lessons learned, challenges, and successes of SGA member companies. This committee focuses on the understanding the economic factors and conditions related to natural gas price fluctuations, impacts on consumers, demand, infrastructure, and policy options that may affect markets.
The mission of the Gas Supply Committee is to provide opportunities to share in experiences, lessons learned, challenges, and successes of SGA member companies. This committee fosters awareness and understanding of issues affecting the transportation, distribution, forecasting and sale of natural gas safely, efficiently, and economically.
Commercial & Industrial Markets Committee is responsible for the strategic planning and directing all activities related to the promotion and sale of natural marketing committees, natural gas appliances and equipment to commercial and industrial customers and stakeholders, and for commercial and industrial customer growth and retention.
Who We Are? Communications, Industrial Sales and Marketing Professionals from across the natural gas industry.
What We Do? Provide networking and educational opportunities to industry peers through awards programs, best practice sharing and sessions at the Commercial/Industrial Sales & Marketing Roundtable.

SGA’s Codes and Standards Committee’s purpose is to help educate industry professionals on the importance of staying abreast end use codes & standards and encouraging the utilities to put resources toward protecting the industry from proposed rulemaking that could negatively impact the natural gas industry.
