SGA Natural Gas Association proudly recognizes Andrew McCarthy of Cavanaugh & Associates, PA, as the June Chair of the Month. Serving as Chair of the RNG Taskforce, Andrew has demonstrated exceptional leadership, organizational skills and dedication in advancing the industry’s capabilities around emerging fuels, specifically renewable natural gas (RNG).
Andrew played a pivotal role in coordinating extensive working sessions focused on updating and reviewing the NGA Interconnect Guide for Emerging Fuels into Energy Delivery Networks. His meticulous approach ensured a thorough revision of the main document, alongside the strategic addition of new content, including a Virtual Pipeline Section and a valuable references appendix.
Beyond these updates, Andrew facilitated crucial intercommittee discussions between the RNG and Hydrogen taskforces. This cross-collaboration maximized knowledge sharing and positioned the guide to be more comprehensive and applicable industry-wide. Under his guidance, the taskforce also explored innovative approaches to rebranding the document, highlighting its status as a standard resource while honoring the contributions of the original organizations.
Thanks to Andrew’s leadership, the RNG Taskforce has incorporated vital new insights from recently completed projects on low-carbon fuels injected into the natural gas pipeline network. His proactive approach has laid a solid foundation for continuous participation and engagement within the committee, fostering robust dialogue and collective effort throughout the second quarter.
Andrew’s contributions directly align with SGA’s mission to provide members and the broader industry with dynamic, living documents that remain current and practical. His commitment to accuracy, detail, and collaborative leadership ensures that the natural gas industry continues to move confidently toward embracing and integrating emerging fuels.
