Transmission Operations - About This Section

We welcome feedback from our members. If you have questions or suggestions for the SGA Transmission Operating Section, please contact Mike Grubb (mgrubb@southerngas.org; 972/620-4022).

Governance

The SGA Transmission Section is managed by the Transmission Section Managing Committee. The 2005 Chairman of this Committee is John Early, Sr. Vice President, Gulf South Pipeline.

The SGA Operating Conference is managed by a planning committee. This committee varies from year to year to give different companies an opportunity to provide input into that meeting.

The Transmission Technical Training Committee provides over-sight to all transmission section sponsored workshops and just in time round tables and conferences.

The Transmission Section has representation on the SGA OQ Task Team (go to the Resource Center for more information).

Overview of the Section

Conferences and Workshops: The Transmission Operating Section sponsors a wide range of offerings designed to provide the operating professional with the information and skills they need to be effective.

Interest Groups: To make sure the operating professional receives the right information at the right time, the Transmission Section has a number of defined interest groups. To stay connected and to facilitate the exchange of important information, each Interest Group has their own section in the Resource Center. For more information about Interest Groups, go to "Transmission Operations ø Interest Groups" on the SGA homepage.

Resource Center: This powerful information aggregator is a valuable resource for the transmission operating professional. Go to the Resource Center to get information on issues impacting your business. Resource Center is divided into specific focus areas to make it easy to locate the information you need.

Audio Conferences and Webinars: Subject matter like "Operator Qualification Update", "Security Issues", "Integrity Management" and "Dealing with High Gas Prices" have been featured on audio conferences co-sponsored by the Transmission Operating Section. Webinars use telephone audio, coupled with internet delivery of slides and other visuals, to deliver information. This distance delivery method saves resources, and provides information to the end user at just the right time. Several audio conferences and webinars will be sponsored or co-sponsored by the Transmission Operating Section in 2005. They will generally be listed under "Transmission Operations - Conferences", or "Transmission Operations - Training".
