Frank Coy is President of Human Resource Consultants Inc.
of a Richardson, Texas, an HR consulting firm recognized nationally for
innovative HR programs and services. Frank provides a winning combination
of proven skills and field-tested experience that provides each trainee
with a rich combination of practical 'nuts and bolts' for improving communications,
motivation, responsibility, commitment, accountability, and results! He
has consulted and trained leaders, managers, supervisors, and team leaders
in such areas as: Positive InterAction Management, Communications, Organizational
Development, Team Building, Workplace Diversity, Strategic Planning, Dispute
Resolution / Mediation, Succession Planning, Classification and Compensation.
He holds a Master's Degree in Counseling & Organizational Psychology from
St. Mary's University and Doctoral level training in Adult Behavioral
Management from the University of North Texas.
Scope
The way people and situations are 'perceived' is often
at the heart of organizational and interpersonal conflict. Organizational
conflict frequently involves the struggle over values, status, power,
position and resources. In addition, the changing nature of the economy,
shifting values within our society, and conflict in the workplace is witnessing
a steady rise in confrontational behavior. More and more, people are quick
to 'strike back' from even the smallest, most insignificant of issues.
This program is designed to assist managers and supervisors
understand the dynamics of organizational and interpersonal conflict.
Participants will learn ways to effectively intervene into disputes in
ways that channel negative emotional energy into successful outcomes and
resolutions. Participants will learn proven ways to 'respond rather than
react' to difficult people and conflict situations.
Highlights
Program objectives:
- Identify the typical incidents and causes leading to
violent behavior and incidents.
- Identify the early warning signs of hostile, angry individuals
and situations in order to spot, intercept and/or avoid potentially
hostile individuals and situations.
- Learn and practice the technique of "emotional detachment"
for effectively disarming and/or diffusing angry or hostile individuals
and situations.
- Incorporate Stress Management, Mental Imagery, and 'Core
Values' into effective self-management techniques.
- Learn how to remain calm, poised and effective during
stress and conflict.

You can bring this training to your location as either an on-site or an open enrollment program.
On-site means the training would take place at your facilities, and would only include your employees. Open enrollment means the training would be brought to your facilities, or facilities near you, and SGA would advertise the workshop to attract other students from surrounding companies.
