Total Productive Maintenance Principles

1.Use Overall Plant Effectiveness (OPE) as a compass for success

2.Involve everybody to build an organization that maximizes the life of the production systems

3.Work towards zero losses

4.Apply everything in phases: stabilize equipment failures, lengthen equipment life, reverse equipment deterioration,  predict equipment life

5.Continuously improve employee maintenance skills

Core Total Productive Maintenance Areas

1.  Focused improvement

2.  Autonomous maintenance

3.   Planned maintenance

4.  Education and training

5.  Early management

6.  Quality maintenance

7.  Administrative and support departments

8.  Safety and environmental management
