Transmission Integrity Management Programs (TIMP) Round Table

Part of the SGA Operating Conference 2007

July 30-August 1, 2007

Hyatt Riverwalk Hotel - San Antonio

The SGA Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP) Steering Committee plans, coordinates and chairs an annual TIMP Round Table at the SGA Operating Conference. In 2007 that conference was held in San Antonio, TX – July 30th to August 1st.

This round table is intended to provide a forum for Transmission operators to discuss the issues that they face in developing and implementing Integrity Management Programs.

The TIMP Steering Committee established as its focus for planning the 2007 Round Table sessions: “The Challenges of Implementation” of Integrity Management.  In order to establish priorities regarding the topics to be addressed, the committee carried out an on-line survey using the Survey Monkey web-based tool. About 500 people on the SGA Integrity Management Interest Group were asked to respond to the survey. Many of those got together in their companies and submitted a single response for that company. Sixty-five responses were recorded.

The questions in the survey were based on the sixteen main OPS protocol areas, Respondents were asked with respect to each topic whether they found that area:

  • No Problem
  • Somewhat Challenging
  • Challenging
  • Very Challenging

Respondents were also asked with respect to each topic to describe their ‘Key Difficulties’.
