Subject: DIMP Webcast Announcement

I am writing today to announce the debut of PHMSA's video webcast describing our recently released Distribution Integrity Management (DIMP) notice of proposed rulemaking. This notice published in the Federal Register on June 25th. The webcast is organized in self-contained "chapters" so viewers need only watch, or rewatch if needed, those chapters in which they are interested.

The webcast is available for viewing at the following URL:

http://phmsa.dot.gov/pipeline/imp

PHMSA has also recorded the webcast in DVD format. We will gladly make a copy of this DVD available to you if you want to provide copies to any of your members who may not have broadband internet access. Please let us know if you would like a master copy.

Discussion topics submitted by those registering for this meeting

  1. We are finding it difficult to locate, interview and ultimately hire Engineering candidates that we feel can come in and contribute in a reasonable or short period of time. Are others having the same issues? Are there things others have tried that result in more favorable results?  Are others finding that the trend for potential candidates is to hire on for five years or so and then move on?
  2. Systems Planning: What companies use a probability of occurrence to determine a design temperature for their system? For companies that use this approach, what probability distribution do they use in their analysis of historical temperatures?

Vendor Participation:

Parts of this session will be open to vendors. Please click "View Event Agenda" above for specifics.

Or check with the Chairs (listed above) for more details.
